Default Road trip

I'm going to do a road trip with some friends from august 6 to 13. We plan on visiting New York, Atlantic City, Washington, and possibly go to the beach. We are still wondering where else we could go so we are open to sugestions of most see places.
Keep in mind that we start from Montreal and we have to be back on the 13 so we can't go too far.

Lived in the Washington DC area for over 30 years. You could spend your entire trip just seeing the sites in DC.

By New York, I assume you mean NY City?

Don't forget the rest of NY. Of course there is Niagara Falls, about an hour from where we live in NY. More casinos in Niagara Falls on the US and Canadian side. Many places to visit in the Finger Lakes region.

Are you looking for city sites, country???

Yeah I mean NY City.
City or country, both I guess, for example if you know a nice beach in that area.
Niagara Falls is good, so many places and so little time.

Sorry I don't know NY City. That's the other side of the world from Buffalo. Are you planning to stay in the city, e.g. hotel? I haven't been to NYC in at least 15 years but the traffic is horrific and parking is hard to find and expensive. Probably best to park-it and take cabs or subway.

DC also has heavy traffic. Rush hour (oxymoron) starts about 6:00 am until at least 9:00 am and again 3:30-4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Definitely best to stay in the burbs and take Metro to the city. Only hassle is finding parking at Metro stations. I'm familiar with Metro stops in the Bethesda Metro corridor. Great sites in the city - Smithsonian museums (free!) are great and of course all the government sites (Capitol..........), monuments.........

Have a GREAT TIME!

One caveat, they're having a terrible heat wave in NYC this summer. And DC is always miserable in August (hot with high humidity).

Go a little further from DC to Virginia Beach, Virginia to cool off after the Washington heat.
