Default Defragin' hdd's?

I'm doin' some general maintenance and clean up on the rock.
my question is do you defrag a raid array?
is there an inherent problems to doing that or is it just like a normal defrag of a single hdd?

thanks much

Scary, what program are you using. Not all Defraggers are equal. I use Perfect Disk
http://www.perfectdisk.com/ I bought this because it works well with my Windows Home Server and had a special buy the WHS product and get I think 10 licenses of Pro version free. Plus I think I got like 30% off too as well.

Good luck

When I used raid 1 the windows defragger blue screened me and I had to start in safe mode and select "last known good config". I used Defraggler and all was well.

Not unless you use SSDs. I'm not sure but I think Win 7 install default runs the defragger automatically.

Yes, if you have an SSD you need to ensure that the automatic defrag under Win 7 is turned off.
